CHICAGO - Freshman women's tennis player Laura Swain earned third team All-Conference USA honors. She becomes the first 49er women's tennis player to ever earn All-Conference USA honors.

Swain played number one singles for Charlotte's final seven matches of the season. In the Conference USA Tournament, she lost a hard fought three set match to two-time All-Conference USA selection Houston's Jen Baccarani at number one singles.

Swain played number two singles for the most of the early part of the season. She won seven dual matches at number two singles.

She also teamed with Alice Hansen to form the 49ers' number one doubles team. They won 10 dual matches including victories over doubles teams from Houston and East Carolina in the Conference USA Tournament.
