SPARTANBURG, SC - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team competed in the first day of the Wofford Fall Classic. Four players have advanced to the quarterfinals.
In Flight A singles, Charlotte's Laura Swain defeated East Tennessee State's Ziolkowska, 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the semifinals.
In other Flight A singles, Charlotte's Lindsay Morris defeated Wofford's Hare, 6-4, 6-1. Then, she defeated East Tennessee State's Irey, 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals.
In Flight A singles, Charlotte's Jennifer Hatch defated UNC Wilmington's Kaiser, 6-4, 6-4. Then, she lost to Charleston Southern's Orlay, 6-2, 6-0.
In Flight A singles, Charlotte's Ashleigh Murray defeated UNC Wilmington's Hess, 6-1, 6-3. Then, she lost to Charleston Southern's Chandresaker, 7-6, 6-2.
In Flight B singles, Charlotte's Marilyn Clark defeated UNC Wilmington's Mears, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals.
In Flight B singles, Charlotte's Jana Cucciniello defeated UNC Wilmington's Elkin, 6-3, 6-1. Then, she defeated Wofford's Deberry, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals.
In Flight B singles, Charlotte's Courtney Clifford defeated Charleston Southern's Reyes, 7-6, 6-1. Then, she lost to East Tennessee State's Aldea, 6-4, 6-3.
In Flight B singles, Charlotte's Megan Bullins lot to Charleston Southern's Said, 6-2, 6-1.
In Flight A doubles, Charlotte's Murray and Swain defeated UNC Wilmington's Hess and Sallie, 9-8, to advance to the semifinals.
In Flight A doubles, Charlotte's Clark and Clifford lost to Charleston Southern's Chandresaker and Orlay, 8-3.
In Flight B doubles, Charlotte's Hatch and Morris defeated Aldea and Stephens, 9-7 to advance to the quarterfinals.
