WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team didn't fair as well as it had hoped on the first day of the Southeast Regionals in Winston-Salem. The 49ers fell in both their singles and doubles match.

In singles, Alice Hansen was defeated by Furman's Mary Kovarik in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Hansen teamed with Jana Cuccinielo in doubles play, falling to the team of Dunigan and The, 8-3.

The 49ers will be at the Southeast Regionals through Monday, Oct. 29.
