Women's Tennis Team Ends Fall Season, Awaits Spring Play

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Senior Yudeshnee Pillay and junior Ana Spivakovsky were eliminated today on day two of the ITA Women's Tennis Southeast Regionals at Wake Forest.

The duo, playing round two of the doubles draw, were ousted by Amanda Granson and Reka Zsilinszka of Duke by an 8-4 score. After winning their first-round match, the duo finished 7-3 together this semester.

Both lost in their opening singles match. Spivakovsky lost her first singles match of the fall when she fell to Zsofia Zubor of Tennessee 6-4, 6-3, while Pillay took the top overall seed, North Carolina's Sanaz Marand, to three sets 6-0, 4-6, 6-2. Pillay finishes the fall 6-3 in singles play.

Charlotte concludes fall tournament play and will hit the courts as a team next semester, starting with a home match against North Carolina A&T on January 24 at noon.
