Charlotte Sweeps Doubles Matches Against UNC Greensboro at Charlotte Tournament

Day One Finished With Two Sessions to Play on Saturday.

Charlotte, N.C. - The Charlotte women's tennis team won all of its doubles matches in day one against UNC Greensboro this afternoon at the Charlotte Tournament, hosted on campus Friday afternoon at the D.L. Phillips Tennis Complex.

Ana Spivakovsky and Yudeshnee Pillay dispatched Guerra and VonStrolley 8-2 in the number-one doubles match-up. Koren Fleming and Michelle Alexander were victorious 8-6 in their match against Behr and Eblen of UNCG in number-two action. Candace Cunningham and Kimber Redfern won 8-1 over Zabkar and Cloer.

Charlotte won three of seven singles matches in the tournament. Redfern (6-1, 6-1), Yana Stoeva (6-4, 6-1) and Cunningham (6-2, 6-4) were all victorious in their matches in straight sets over their UNCG counterparts.

Day Two begins at 9:30 a.m. as the round-robin format pits Charlotte against Georgia State in the early session. After a lunch break, the teams will return to play at approximately 2 p.m. when Charlotte takes on Furman.
