Women's Tennis Starts Season at Wake Forest

All Team Members Get Matches at First Fall Tournament

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis program began their 2007 season up the road at Wake Forest at the Deacon Fall Classic over the weekend.

After dropping her first match of flight two, Yudeshnee Pillay won the consolation bracket in that flight, taking her next two matches and winning in the final 6-4, 6-4. Five other 49ers tasted at least one victory in singles play.

In doubles action, Pillay and Ana Spivakovsky dropped their opening match before going on to win the consolation side of the flight one doubles bracket 8-6 over the Fudge/Finnegan pair from Illinois.

Charlotte heads to Tuscaloosa this weekend for a tournament at the University of Alabama.
