WILMINGTON, NC - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team is competing in the UNC Wilmington Invitational this weekend. This is the 49ers second tournament of the season.

In Flight A singles, Charlotte's Laura Swain defeated Davidson's Patterson, 6-3, 6-4 in the first round. Then, she lost to Middle Tennessee State's Klaschka, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.

In Flight A singles, Charlotte's Ashleigh Murray lost to College of Charleston's Moreira, 6-3, 6-7, 6-0. Then, she defeated UNC Greensboro's Peel, 6-3, 7-6 in the back draw.

In Flight B singles, Charlotte's Lindsay Morris defeated Davidson's Powell, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. Then, she lost to Furman's Cochran, 6-0, 6-0.

In Flight B singles, Charlotte's Marilyn Clark lost to Middle Tennessee State's Varnell, 6-1, 6-2. Then, she lost to College of Charleston's Marks, 6-2, 6-1, in the back draw.

In Flight C singles, Charlote's Courtney Clifford lost to Middle Tennessee State's Vest, 3-6, 7-5, 7-5. Then, she defeated UNC Wilmington's Fillettaz, 6-4, 6-3, in the back draw.

In Flight C singles, Charlotte's Jennfer Hatch defeated UNC Wilmington's Mears, 6-1, 6-1. Then, she defeated UNC Greensboro's LaCoste, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to the semifinals of Flight C.

In Flight D singles, Charlotte's Stacie Luders lost to Davidson's Rainbow, 6-1, 6-3. Then, she lost to College of Charleston's Wilson, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.

In Flight D singles, Charlotte's Megan Bullins defeated Davidson's Grinstead, 6-3, 6-3. Then, she defeated College of Charleston's Myers, 6-1, 6-2.

In Flight A doubles, Charlotte's Hatch and Murray lost to Middle Tennessee State's Varnell and Venter, 8-3. Also, Charlotte's Morris and Swain defeated UNC Greensboro's Orellana and Peel, 8-4.

In Flight B doubles, Charlotte's Clark and Clifford defeated College of Charleston's Marks and Wilson, 8-2. Also, Charlotte's Bullins and Luders defeated UNC Wilmington's Mears and Fillettaz, 8-4.
