CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis dropped their regular season finale to cross-county rival Davidson, 7-0.
The Conference USA Tournament begins Thursday, April 18 hosted by TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. The 49ers enter the tournament as the 13th seed and will face fourth seed Houston in the first round, Thursday, April 18 at 1 pm.
Davidson won all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. In number one doubles, Charlotte's Alice Hansen and Laura Swain lost to Davidson's Kelly Fillnow and Megan Fillnow, 8-5. In number two doubles, Charlotte's Jennifer Hatch and Lauren Hastings lost to Davidson's Meggie Patterson and Katherine Hatch, 8-3. In number three doubles, Charlotte's Courtney Clifford and Stacie Luders lost to Davidson's Kelley Cantrell and Yasamine Hilu, 8-3.
Davidson won all six of the singles matches. In number one singles, Charlotte's Laura Swain lost a hard fought match to Kelly Fillnow, 3-6, 6-0, 7-5. In number two singles, Charlotte's Alice Hansen lost another hard fought match to Davidson's Meggie Patterson, 6-7, 6-2, 6-4. In number three singles, Charlotte's Jennifer Hatch lost to Davidson's Megan Fillnow, 6-3, 6-3. In number four singles, Charlotte's Lauren Hastings lost to Davidson's Kelley Cantrell, 6-2, 6-4. In number five singles, Charlotte's Stacie Luders lost a hard fought match to Davidson's Yasamine Hilu, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2. In number six singles, Charlotte's Courtney Clifford lost to Davidson's Katherine Hatch, 6-4, 6-0.
