CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers men's and women's tennis teams swept High Point in a men's-women's doubleheader Wednesday afternoon. The men won their final match of the regular-season, 6-1, to finish year with a 9-0 record at home. The women won their match as well, earning a 6-1 decision and evened their record at .500 with one regular-season match left.

The Charlotte men (12-7) secured wins in all three double matches and the first five singles matches to take the match. Each of the singles victories were in straight sets, including a 6-0, 6-0 showing for Joakim Peterson over Bjorn Hagdahl at No. 3. David Bolin also won his match at No. 7 for the 49ers, picking up a 6-0, 5-1 win.

The Charlotte women (8-8) captured the victory by taking the doubles point and five singles matches. Three of the singles matches involved a tiebreaker, including 49ers wins by Lauren Hastings at No. 3, Stacie Luders at No. 4 and Bailey Gainey at No. 5.

The men return to action next week at the Conference USA Tournament in New Orleans, La. The women close the regular season Thursday, when they play at Campbell.
