CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team defeated Charleston Southern, 7-0. The team returns to action when they host Coastal Carolina, Sunday, April 7.

Charlotte won two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. In number one doubles, Charlotte's Alice Hansen and Laura Swain lost to Charleston Southern's Andersson and Rechag, 8-4. In number two doubles, Charlotte's Jana Cucciniello and Jennifer Hatch defeated Charleston Southern's Belcastro and Reyes, 9-7. In number three doubles, Charlotte's Courtney Clifford and Stacie Luders defeated Charleston Southern's Mathis and Said, 9-7.

Charlotte won all six singles matches. In number one singles, Charlotte's Swain defeated Charleston Southern's Andersson, 6-3, 7-5. In number two singles, Charlotte's Hansen defeated Charleston Southern's Rechag, 6-4, 6-0. In number three singles, Charlotte's Cucciniello defeated Charleston Southern's Reyes, 6-4, 6-2. In number four singles, Charlotte's Hatch defeated Charleston Southern's Mathis, 6-4, 6-2. In number five singles, Charlotte's Lauren Hastings defeated Charleston Southern's Belcastro, 6-2, 6-2. In number six singles, Charlotte's Luders defeated Charleston Southern's Said, 6-2, 6-2.
