SPARTANBURG, SC - The Women's Tennis team defeated Wofford, 5-2. The 49ers will now play five of their final six regular season matches at home. The team returns to action at home next weekend against Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina.

Charlotte won two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. In number one doubles, Charlotte's Alice Hansen and Laura Swain defeated Wofford's Rohr and Whisenhunt, 8-5. In number two doubles, Charlotte's Jana Cucciniello and Jennifer Hatch defeated Wofford's Banks and DeBerry, 8-6. In number three doubles, Charlotte's Lauren Hastings and Stacie Luders lost to Wofford's Hantske and Stephens, 8-3.

Charlotte won four of the six singles matches. In number one singles, Charlotte's Alice Hansen lost to Wofford's Rohr, 6-0, 6-0. In number two singles, Charlotte's Laura Swain defeated Wofford's Whisenhunt, 7-5, 6-0. In number three singles, Charlotte's Jana Cucciniello defeated Wofford's DeBerry, 6-1, 6-2. In number four singles, Charlotte's Jennifer Hatch defeated Wofford's Banks, 6-2, 6-4. In number five singles, Charlotte's Lauren Hastings defeated Wofford's Hantske, 7-5, 7-5. In number six singles, Charlotte's Courtney Clifford lost to Wofford's Stephens, 1-6, 6-2, 6-2.
