MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team ended up on the short end of the stick with a 6-1 loss at Coastal Carolina.

Coastal Carolina won two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. In number one doubles, Charlotte's Ashleigh Murray and Laura Swain lost to Coastal Carolina's Medina Bajrambasic and Marie Matrka, 8-2. In number two doubles, Charlotte's Marilyn Clark and Stacie Luders lost to Coastal Carolina's Dana Goffin and Petra Jantti, 8-3. In number three doubles, Charlotte's Jennifer Hatch and Lindsay Morris defeated Coastal Carolina's Stephanie Koot and Rosemary Younger, 8-6.

Coastal Carolina won five of the six singles matches. In number one singles, Charlotte's Swain lost to Coastal Carolina's Bajrambasic, 6-2, 6-4. In number two singles, Charlotte's Lindsay Morris lost to Coastal Carolina's Goffin, 6-1, 7-6. In number three singles, Charlotte's Murray lost to Coastal Carolina's Matrka, 7-5, 6-1. In number four singles, Charlotte's Clark lost to Coastal Carolina's Koot, 6-3, 6-2. In number five singles, Charlotte's Hatch lost to Coastal Carolina's Jantti, 6-3, 6-2. In number six singles, Charlotte's Megan Bullins defeated Coastal Carolina's Younger, 6-3, 6-2.
