CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team behind four singles wins defeated East Tennessee State, 4-2, at the D.L. Phillips Tennis Complex. With the win the 49ers improved to 6-7 on the season.

Due to the weather conditions, the teams did not play doubles. Charlotte won four of the six singles matches to win the match.

In number one singles, Charlotte's Laura Swain defeated East Tennessee State's Sylwia Ziolkowska, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0. In number two singles, Charlotte's Lindsay Morris defeated East Tennessee State's Gemma Halim, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. In number three singles, Charlotte's Ashleigh Murray lost to ETSU's Jessica Irey, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1. In number four singles, Charlotte's Marilyn Clark defeated ETSU's Jewel Aldea, 2-6, 6-1, 7-5. In number five singles, Charlotte's Jennifer Hatch lost to ETSU's Courtney McInnis, 1-6, 6-4, 6-0. In number six singles, Charlotte's Megan Bullins defeated ETSU's Tatiana Arriaran, 6-3, 6-3.

The 49ers return to action, Sunday, March 16, at Coastal Carolina.
