Houston, Texas - The Charlotte 49ers defeated Sam Houston State, 5-2, despite dropping matches at first and third singles. The 49ers, who swept the three doubles matches, picked up wins at #2 singles as well as the fourth, fifth and sixth rungs to claim victory.

Marilyn Clark and Lindsay Morris teamed for a victory at #2 doubles, 8-6, and also captured singles wins to lead the 49ers. Morris defeated Mounia Hassib at #2 singles, 6-3; 7-6 and Clark topped Erika Rudich, 6-4; 6-0 at #4 singles. Jennifer Hatch, who teamed with Courtney Clifford for a win at #3 doubles, easily toppled Jennifer Pechal, 6-1; 6-0 at #5 singles. Megan Bullin picked up the win at #6 singles, 6-1; 6-0, over Sheenen Ludwig.

Laura Swain and Ashleigh Murray lost their singles matches at #1 and #3, respectively, but did team for a win at #1 doubles, 8-3.
