Charlotte, NC - Charlotte women's tennis team defeated UNC Asheville 6-1 in collegiate women's tennis action.

This marked Charlotte third straight win. The improved their record to 5-1.

The 49ers won five of the six singles matches against UNC Asheville.

In number one singles, Charlotte's Alice Hansen defeated UNC Asheville's Stefanie Shuba, 6-3, 6-4.

In number two singles, Charlotte's Gina Craig defeated UNC Asheville's Nancy Livesay, 6-1, 6-4.

In number three singles, Charlotte's Lauren Hastings defeated UNC Asheville's Ashley Jones, 6-4, 6-0.

In number four singles, Charlotte's Stacie Luders defeated UNC Asheville's Sarah Cox, 6-3, 6-2.

In number five singles, Charlotte's Bailey Gainey defeated UNC Asheville's Emily Acker-Estes, 6-2, 6-2.

In number six singles, UNC Asheville's Andrea Knight defeated Charlotte's Alison Lacy, 6-2, 6-0.

In doubles action, Charlotte won two out of the three doubles matches.

In number one doubles, Charlotte's Hansen and Hastings defeated UNC Asheville's Shuba and Jones, 8-4.

In number two doubles, Charlotte's Craig and Luders defeated UNC Asheville's Cox and Livesay, 8-4.

In number three doubles, UNC Asheville's Acker-Estes and Witkowski defeated Charlotte's Kelly Rue and Bailey Gainey, 9-8.

Charlotte returns to action when they host Marshall, Friday, March 2 at 2 pm.
