HIGH POINT, NC - The Charlotte Women's tennis team defeated High Point, 6-1. This marked the second straight day that the 49ers have played a road tennis match after facing NC State, Sunday.

Charlotte swept all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. In number one doubles, Charlotte's Alice Hansen and Laura Swain defeated High Point's Myerson and Darcy, 9-8 (7-4 in the tiebreak). In number two doubles, Charlotte's Jana Cucciniello and Jennifer Hatch defeated High Point's Fulton and Ericson, 8-3. In number three doubles, Charlotte's Lauren Hastings and Stacie Luders defeated High Point's Stride and Wick, 8-4.

Charlotte won five of their six singles matches. In number one singles, Charlotte's Hansen defeated High Point's Fulton, 6-4, 6-4. In number two doubles, Charlotte's Swain lost to High Point's Myerson, 7-5, 3-6, 10-7. In number three singles, Charlotte's Cucciniello defeated High Point's Stride, 6-1, 6-2. In number four singles, Charlotte's Hatch defeated High Point's Darcy, 6-1, 6-7, 10-8. In number five singles, Charlotte's Hastings was leading High Point's Ericson, 3-2, before Ericson retired. In number six singles, Charlotte's Courtney Clifford defeated High Point's Wick, 6-1, 6-1.
