Greenville, NC - The Charlotte women's tennis team began their spring season on the road at Furman with a 7-0 loss.

In number one singles, Charlotte's Alice Hansen lost to Furman's Megan Dunigan, 6-4, 6-2. In number two singles, Charlotte's Jana Cucciniello lost to Furman's Gene Holman, 6-2, 6-1. In number three singles, Charlotte's Laura Swain lost to Furman's Natalie The, 6-3, 6-2. In number four singles, Charlotte's Jennifer Hatch lost to Furman's Mary Neill Hagood, 6-1, 6-0. In number five singles, Charlotte's Lauren Hastings lost to Furman's Caroline Bentley, 6-1, 6-0. In number six singles, Charlotte's Courtney Clifford lost to Furman's Shellie Cochran, 6-0, 6-2.

In number one doubles, Charlotte's Cucciniello and Hatch lost to Furman's The and Kovarik, 8-5. In number two doubles, Charlotte's Hansen and Swain lost to Furman's Holman and Thomson, 9-8. In number three doubles, Charlotte's Clifford and Hastings lost to Furman's Cochran and Hagood, 8-5.

Charlotte returns to action when they host North Carolina A & T and Appalachian State, Saturday, February 9.
