Auburn, AL - Charlotte 49ers softball's senior second baseman Sarah Malene. a three-time All-Atlantic 10 selection, helped the Virginia Legends win their third straight 23-and-under ASA National Tournament in Auburn, Alabama last week, July 17-20. "It was a great experience playing with and against a bunch of great college players," Malene said. "Playing in this tournament and winning the National Title is something that I will remember for the rest of my life."

Malene was joined on the Virginia Legends team by collegiate players from University of Florida, LSU, University of Tennessee, University of South Carolina, University of Missouri and USC Upstate.

"Sarah did a great job for us," Legends coach Bobby Willis said. "She played very solid defense for us as well as helping us out offensively. She was a great addition to our team."
