Junior Pitcher

Kristen Bowen was named student-athlete of the week after recording two A-10 road victories including the program's fourth perfect game.
Against George Washington, she became only the fourth player in school history and the first since 1998 to record a perfect game. She posted seven strikeouts over six perfect innings of work on the mound in the 49ers 10-0 win last Friday.
Then, she helped the 49ers move into sole possession of second place in the Atlantic 10 after she scattered seven hits and allowed only two runs over seven innings in the 49ers 4-2 win at Fordham last Sunday.
The two victories improved her record to 22-4 on the season, which is the second highest single-season wins total in school history. She also recorded eight strikeouts this past weekend giving her a school-record 147 strikeouts this season.
Bowen and the rest of the 49ers softball team put their nine-game winning streak on the line when they conclude the regular season with Atlantic 10 series against Temple and Saint Joseph's this weekend at the Phillips Softball Complex.
Other nominees: Chris Lane (baseball).
