Kristi Killough was named athlete of the week after slugging the 49ers to four wins this week to push their winning streak to nine games.

Killough blasted three home runs in leading the 49ers to a doubleheader sweep of St. Francis last Thursday. In game one, she connected on two home runs with four RBI in Charlotte's 13-1 win. In game two, she connected on two hits including a walkoff home run leading off the seventh inning in Charlotte's 4-3 win.

Then, she connected on four hits including her fourth home run of the week in the 49ers doubleheader sweep of Pittsburgh last Sunday. In game one, she connected on a hit with one RBI in Charlotte's 5-4 win. In game two, she connected on three hits including a home run with three RBI in Charlotte's 6-5 win.

For the week, she led the team with a .571 batting average (8-for-14) with a double and four home runs for a 1.500 slugging percentage. She scored five runs and tallied 10 RBI in the four games..

Killough and the rest of the 49ers softball team put their nine-game winning streak on the line when they travel to Elon for a doubleheader, Wednesday, March 8.
