CHICAGO - DePaul used a pair of big innings to earn a doubleheader sweep of Charlotte Saturday afternoon at Wish Field. It was the Conference USA openers for both schools.
DePaul (16-7-1, 2-0 C-USA), ranked 10th in the latest USA Today/NFCA Poll, powered itself with a six-run inning in game one and a seven-run inning in game two. Charlotte (10-10, 0-2 C-USA) wasn't able to do much offensively in either game. Kristin White provided the only 49ers hit in the first game, while Kristy Constantino, Kiley Scott and Autumn Lawson each had a hit in the second game.
The two teams wrap up the three-game series Sunday at 1:00 CST.
