Jim Daley is in his 11th year with the Charlotte softball program. He serves as the team's pitching coach.
Daley has coached at several levels, including recreational, high school and ASA since 1978. He coached for five years at Firestone High School in Akron, Ohio, prior to moving to Charlotte in 1995. He retired as Manager of Purchases from General Tire with 36 years of service in September 2000.
An Akron native, Daley earned a degree from the University of Akron in 1971. He currently pitches for the Charlotte Fastpitch Softball Club and has played for the Rock Hill Merchants, Franks Tavern of Akron and has competed in ASA State and National level tournaments. Jim also pitched batting practice for the WPSL (Women's Professional Softball League) Carolina Diamonds and Akron Racers.
