Charlotte, NC - Charlotte 49ers women's soccer sophomore midfielder Hailey Beam was named to Soccer Buzz's Elite Team of the Week after garnering Atlantic 10 Tournament Most Valuable Player honors last Sunday. Beam is the third 49er to be named to Soccer Buzz's Elite Team of the Week this season since her sister senior midfielder Lindsey Ozimek was named to the team, October 2, and freshman midfielder Sam Huecker was named to the team October 16.
Beam scored the 49ers first goal and then assisted on Charlotte's second goal in their, 3-2, A-10 Championship game victory over Fordham, Sunday. Beam was named A-10 Tournament MVP and to the A-10 All-Tournament team for her efforts in Charlotte's 1-0 win over Richmond in the A-10 semifinals and the championship game victory over Fordham.
Beam currently has scored three goals with three assists for nine points entering the NCAA Tournament.
Beam, Huecker, Ozimek and the rest of the 49ers women's soccer team will be making their third-ever NCAA Tournament appearance when they face Clemson in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at the University of Tennessee, Friday, November 16 at 8 pm.
