2007 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Tournament Bracket ![]()
The Charlotte 49ers (14-4-1, A:10: 9-1-1) are the top seed in the Atlantic 10 Tournament after winning the A-10 regular season title for the second straight year. The 49ers are hosting the six-team A-10 Tournament at Transamerica Field beginning, Thursday, November 8 at 5:30 pm.
The A-10 Tournament begins with third-seed Duquesne battling sixth-seed Richmond, Thursday, November 8 at 5:30 pm. Then, the game between fourth-seed Saint Louis and fifth-seed Dayton rounds out the quarterfinal action on November 8. The 49ers face the winner of the Duquesne-Richmond game or the lowest remaining seed in the first A-10 Tournament semifinal game, Friday, November 9 at 5:30 pm. Fordham, the second-seed, faces the winner of Saint Louis and Dayton or the highest remaining seed in the second semifinal game which follows Charlotte's semifinal game. The winners of the two semifinal games battle for the A-10 Tournament Championship and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, Sunday, November 11 at 1 pm.
The 49ers enter the Tournament having posted a 12-1-1 record over their last fourteen games. During that stretch the 49ers defense led by sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Brown recorded eight shutouts and limited all 14 foes to a goal or less.
The 49ers offense have outscored their opposition 37-11 this season. Senior Lindsey Ozimek leads the 49ers with 19 points on four goals and 11 assists. While freshmen Sam Huecker and Whitney Weinraub are tied for the team lead in goals with six apiece.
Charlotte has participated in every conference tournament since the program became affiliated with a conference in 1995. The 49ers have reached at least the conference tournament semifinals in 11 of their 13 conference tournament appearances.
The 49ers are 4-0-1 against the A-10 Tournament field this season. Charlotte posted victories over Duquesne (5-0), Richmond (2-1), Dayton (2-1) and Saint Louis (1-0) during the regular season. The 49ers tied Fordham (1-1) in their A-10 home opener.
