CHARLOTTE, N.C. - On Tuesday, October 16, the Charlotte women's soccer team will return home to Transamerica Field to take on regional foe NC State at 7:00 p.m.

The 49ers are coming off a conference weekend, in which they split the two matches, loss at #17 Marquette on Friday and win at DePaul on Sunday for their current record of 7-3-2, 5-1-0 in Conference USA. Their conference mark currently places them in third place in the conference standings.

In three previous meetings, Charlotte owns a 2-1 series advantage over the Wolfpack. Last season in Raleigh, NC State won their first match in the series, 3-0. The 1999 Charlotte win over NC State was the program's first home victory over an ACC foe.

Offensively, Charlotte is led by junior tri-captain Jennie Leeder (Spring, Texas/Klein), who has registered a career-high four goals on the season. Freshman Leslie Canales (Raleigh, N.C./Enloe), second on the team with three goals, is tied for the team lead with Leeder and leads the 49er freshmen in points with 10. Junior goalkeeper Jenn Howell (Marietta, Ga./McEachern) leads the 49er defense recording five shutouts in the seven victories, with a season GAA of 0.88 and 50 saves.

The 49ers will continue play at home on Friday, October 19, versus conference opponent Saint Louis at 7:00 p.m. All home matches are free to Charlotte students with valid ID.
