CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte women's soccer team fell to Cincinnati, 1-0, in double overtime on Sunday, October 22, at Meyers Field in Cincinnati, Ohio. With the loss, the 49ers fall to 10-7-1, 7-2-1 in Conference USA on the season, while the Bearcats improve to 13-5, 9-2.

The teams battled to a scoreless regulation, with each team having a couple opportunities. Cincinnati's best chance came in the 11th minute but Charlotte midfielder Jennie Leeder headed a ball off the goal line to preserve the 0-0 score. Just minutes later, Leeder shot a ball just wide of the outstretched arms of Cincinnati keeper Christy Hoffman.

At 46:10, Charlotte was called for a foul inside the penalty box. Tiffany Ogden shot the PK to the lower right hand corner, however, Charlotte keeper Andrea Kollmorgen, made a diving save to keep the game 0-0. In the first overtime, at 95:01, another Charlotte foul inside the box resulted in an another Bearcat penalty kick. This time, Heather Herweh shot the ball over Kollmorgen, but the ball found the crossbar and was cleared out by the 49er defense to keep the game deadlocked.

It was not until the 107:06 mark, when Cincinnati defender Ashley Murphy received a crossing pass from the left side from midfielder Tasha Wagner, that the game was decided. Murphy redirected the cross and placed it pass Kollmorgen for the winner.
