#22 Marquette Defeats Charlotte, 2-0, In Women's Soccer

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Marquette used a pair of first-half goals to hand Charlotte a 2-0 loss Sunday in Conference USA women's soccer action.

The Golden Eagles took a 1-0 lead at the 14:29 mark on a goal from Jenny Strachota. Anne Ioder scored the Golden Eagles' final goal at 40:17. Charlotte goalkeeper Jennifer Howell recorded eight saves for the Niners.

Marquette, who was ranked 22nd nationally, improved their record to 11-1 overall, 6-0 in C-USA. Charlotte fell to 7-6-1 overall, 4-1-1 in C-USA.

The 49ers will take the next two weeks off before returning to action against Tulane Oct. 13 at Transamerica Field in their final home weekend of the season.
