CLEMSON, S.C. - The #6 ranked Clemson Lady Tiger soccer team won their fourth match in a row as they defeated the Charlotte 49ers 1-0 in the fourth and final game of the Clemson/Nike Invitational today September 3 at Historic Riggs Field.

Clemson is off to their second best start in school history with the 4-0 start to the year. Last year's squad started 5-0 before their first loss in the 1999 season. Charlotte lost for the second straight game to even their record at 2-2.

Freshman Lindsay Browne continued her impressive streak of a goal a game. She now has four goals on the year in exactly four games. The Lady Tiger record for consecutive games with a goal is five set by Carmie Landeen and Nikki Tompkins both during the 1994 season.

Browne converted her fourth score at the 32:09 mark. Sophomore Deliah Arrington sent a cross from the right side of the goal into the heart of the box. Browne then finished with a rocket past 49er goalie Jennifer Howell, who finished the game with a career-high 13 saves.

This was the second shutout of the year for the Lady Tigers.
