ELON COLLEGE, N.C. - Jill Currie and Jill Hayes each scored as Charlotte beat Elon 2-0 at Rudd Field on Wednesday, August 30. Hayes' goal marked her first collegiately. Currie and Dawn Geyer each tallied assists for the 49ers on Hayes' shot.

Charlotte outshot the Phoenix 6-1 (shots on goal), and 12-2 overall.

Currie broke a 0-0 second half deadlock with a goal directly off a corner kick at the 48:27 mark. Charlotte goalie Jennifer Howell snagged one save while Elon goalie Sommer Cork registered four.
