Charlotte, NC - Charlotte 49ers women's basketball senior guard Sabrina Gregory and sophomore forward Erin Floyd received awards at the 49ers athletic department's all-sports banquet, Sunday, April 27. Gregory was named team MVP for the second straight season. While Floyd received the team's Gold Nugget Award, which is given to the player that exhibits the most dedication and determination to the 49ers women's basketball program.
Gregory joins Sakellie Daniels (2004-06), Markita Aldridge (1995-96), Charlette Hargrove (1994, 1997), Charlita Davis (1992-93), Kristin Wilson (1986-87), Paula Bennett (1979-81) and Kathy McAmis (1976-77) as 49ers standouts that have earned multiple team MVP awards.
This past season, Gregory earned third-team All-Atlantic 10 honors for the second straight season. Gregory was also named to the A-10 All-Defensive team as well as the A-10 Academic All-Conference team for the second straight season. She also earned second-team North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State team for the second straight season.
Gregory finished the season second on the team in scoring (10.6 ppg) while leading the team in assists with 125. She led the Atlantic 10 in free-throw shooting at 86 percent. This past season, she became the 15th player in school history to score 1,000 career points and she finished her career ranked 11th in school history with 1,286 career points. This season, she has earned A-10 Player of the Week honors twice. She was named A-10 Player of the Week after scoring 19 points to go along with six assists and six steals in the 49ers victory over ACC foe Virginia Tech, December 16. Then, she claimed her second A-10 Player of the Week award after collecting her first career double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the 49ers A-10 season opening win at Duquesne, January 12. Gregory recorded her second career double-double with 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds in the 49ers win over La Salle, January 30. She set the program's career games played record by playing in 125 career games. She finished her career at Charlotte ranked among the program's career leaders in points, assists, steals, field goals made, minutes played and games played.

Floyd tallied 13 of her 14 career double-figure scoring games this past season. She recorded her first career 20-point scoring game with 20 points in the 49ers 59-57 win over Saint Joseph's, February 12. She also collected her first two career double-doubles with 19 points and 10 rebounds against Arizona, November 11 and 10 points and 10 rebounds at Arkansas State, December 30.
