Sabrina Gregory Named to Athletic Directors' Scholar-Athlete team

Gregory earned first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors

Charlotte, NC - Charlotte 49ers junior guard Sabrina Gregory (Fayetteville, NC/E.E. Smith HS) was named to the fifth annual Division I-AAA Athletic Directors Association Scholar-Athlete team.

The team is selected from basketball players from all Division I-AAA (Division I institutions that do not sponsor football) member institutions with a minimum 3.20 GPA. The student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing that is a starter or important reserve. A special review committee made up of nine Division I-AAA athletic directors selected the ten players team.

Gregory, who was named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team, has a 3.75 GPA in Math. She also was named first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team

Gregory earned third-team All-Atlantic 10 honors as well as being named to the Atlantic 10 All-Defensive team. After coming off the bench her first two seasons, she stepped into the 49ers starting lineup last season and a had a career-year. She led the team in scoring (14.3 ppg), assists (139) and steals (70). She finished third on the team in rebounding (4.2). She finished the season by scoring in double-figures in 14 straight games.
