Charlotte, Temple, Fordham, Massachusetts, Richmond and Xavier are teams in the Atlantic 10 that are having Education Days which revolves around a game which the Universities invite local elementary and junior high schools to a game where they will have several educational activities prior to the game.

This will be the first year that the 49ers are holding an Education Day and over 600 middle school students are expected in attendance at the event. Prior to the sessions, the students will be welcomed by Charlotte 49ers women's basketball coach Karen Aston and Charlotte 49ers Director of Athletics Judy Rose in Halton Arena at 9:10.

The four sessions will cover an admissions talk (a discussion about preparing for college and the admissions process for UNC Charlotte), a student-athlete talk (student-athletes will tell about their experiences as a college athlete), a campus tour and finally in the practice gym their will be a 21st century version of gym class which is an interactive video by HOPSports with a professional athlete which involves the students participation.

After the four sessions are over, the students will have lunch at 11:30 which leads into the tip-off of the Charlotte-UMass game at Noon.

The 49ers will be the visiting team for Temple's Education Day, Wednesday, February 6 at 12 pm.
