The Bearcats stayed in front the entire game. They took their first double-figure lead at the 14:29 mark with a Laura Wilder layup. The 49ers pulled back to within eight a short time later on a Tiffianie Hoey jumper, but Cincinnati went on an 11-2 run to take control for good. At halftime, the Cats were in front, 52-29.
Charlotte tried to get back into the game in the second half, pulling within 15, 64-49, on a pair of Abernathy free throws with 11:44 to play. The Bearcats went on another run, however to push the lead back to 25 and cruised to the win.
