Sichel Falls In Three Sets In First Round of the NCAA Singles Championship

Sichel finished the season with 28 wins which is the third highest single-season total in school history

Athens, GA - Charlotte 49ers men's tennis junior Roy Sichel saw his season end with a hard fought three set loss, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, to Oklahoma State's Oleksandr Nedovyesov, who is the 23rd ranked player in the country, in the first round of the NCAA Singles Championship at the University of Georgia.

For the second year in a row at the NCAA Singles Championship, Sichel would win the first set of his first round match, 6-3.

Sichel's season ends with 28 singles victories which is the third highest single-season total in school history. In three seasons at Charlotte, Sichel has won 73 singles matches which is the fifth highest total in school history.

The past two seasons, he has been named A-10 Most Outstanding Performer. This season, he helped the 49ers capture the Atlantic 10 Championship and the program's first-ever berth in the NCAA Tournament.
