Athens, Ga. - Junior Roy Sichel will face Oleksandr Nedovyesov of Oklahoma State in the opening round of the NCAA Singles Tournament Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. Nedovyesov is the number 32 ranked player in the country, Sichel is ranked 81st.
Sichel will be making his second consecutive trip to the NCAA Singles Tournament. The two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Year went 28-11 in singles matches this season. Nedovyesov, a freshman, went 18-5 on the season.
The winner of Wednesday's match will go on to face Somdev Devvarman, the number two ranked player in the country from the University of Virginia. He went 37-5 on the season.
In Sichel's last match this season he faced Wake Forest's Todd Paul, the number six ranked player in the country. The two were tied at 6-6 in the first set when the match was called because Wake Forest had already claimed the overall tournament.
