Charlotte's Michael Anders Named Men's Tennis A-10 Rookie of the Week for Second Time

Philadelphia, Pa. - Freshman Michael Anders has been named Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week, officials announced today.
Anders won both of his matches for the week for Charlotte. He had the match-clinching point in Charlotte's 4-3 home win over previously-ranked College of Charleston Friday in a second-set tiebreaker.
It is the third such honor for a Niner, and the second for Anders. Moritz Bernhoerster won the award last week for Charlotte.
On Sunday, he was one of Charlotte's two wins in the Niners 5-2 road loss at No. 51 Elon, with a straight-sets win at number-four singles.
He has won his last three in a row and six of his last seven singles matches for Charlotte. He leads the team with a 7-2 singles mark in the spring, and is 10-7 in singles play this year.
The Niners will host Winthrop Thursday at 2 p.m.
