Davidson, N.C. - The Charlotte men's tennis team competed at the Jim Causey Invitational at Davidson College this weekend, taking on athletes from Furman, Appalachian State and Davidson.
Jesse Hutchinson won all three of his singles matches to extend his streak to nine in a row. After losing his first singles match of the year, Hutchinson is 9-1 so far this fall. Michael Anders, Moritz Bernhoerster and Ricky Cuellar all won a pair of singles matches.
Bernhoerster won both of his doubles matches, partnering with both of the two Niners freshmen, Charles Martin-Le Camp and Anthony Davison once each.
"We came out a little ahead of the teams that participated," said Niners head coach Jim Boykin. "Everybody played tough and our guys played hard. It was very competitive tennis, with a lot of close matches, which is what we need at this time of year."
Selected Niners will head to the Mid-East Regional in Chapel Hill next week.
