Greenville, SC - The Charlotte men's tennis team entered the ITA rankings this week at #52. This is the highest ever ranking for the team. Last season, Charlotte reached #62.
However, the 49ers lost to #68 Furman, 5-2, Wednesday.
In number one singles, Charlotte's Ola Jonsson defeated Furman's Les Nickell, 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.
In number two singles, Charlotte's Jacob Nordwall lost to Furman's John Chesworth, 6-1, 6-1.
In number three singles, Charlotte's Joakim Peterson lost to Furman's James Cameron, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8.
In number four singles, Charlotte's Thomas Oggesen defeated Furman's Patrick Fillnow, 6-1, 6-2.
In number five singles, Charlotte's David Bolin lost to Furman's Patrick Gaughan, 6-2, 6-2.
In number six singles, Charlotte's Jonathan McGovern lost to Furman's Chris Henderson, 6-3, 6-0.
In number one doubles, Charlotte's Nordwall and Peterson lost to Furman's Cameron and Chesworth, 8-3.
In number two doubles, Charlotte's Oggesen and Jonsson defeated Furman's Fillnow and Andrew Rogers, 8-6.
In number three doubles, Charlotte'd Bolin and McGovern lost to Furman's Charlie Lloyd and Henderson, 9-7.
Charlotte returns to action when they host #60 Virginia Tech, Wednesday, March 28 at 2 pm.
