Raleigh, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers men's tennis team was swept 7-0 at the hands of #56 Indiana Friday afternoon in Raleigh. This marks the first time this season that Charlotte has fallen 7-0 in dual match competition this season. The Niners drop to 4-8 this season. Indiana improves to 8-2.
"Indiana came out and showed why they are ranked as they are," said Niners head coach Jim Boykin. "After winning the doubles point, they put us down 3-0 quickly in our singles play. Our guys bounced back and competed, but we're learning a lot about ourselves right now. We look forward to getting better against UNC Greensboro tomorrow."
Chris Huynh, at number-six singles, was as close as a 49er came to winning a point. He won the first set and lost 10-7 in the third-set superset tiebreaker. Brad Clinard, playing at number-three singles, also won the second set of his match.
Charlotte takes on UNCG at 11 a.m. in Greensboro on Saturday.
