Charlotte, NC - The Charlotte 49ers (11-6-1, A-10: 5-3-1) after winning five of their last six games earned the fourth-seed and will face Fordham in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Tournament which begins Thursday, November 15 at Dayton's Baujan Field. The 49ers have now reached the six-team A-10 Tournament in each of three seasons that Charlotte has been a member of the Atlantic 10.

Charlotte enters the Tournament having gone 5-1-1 in the last seven Atlantic 10 games. During that stretch, Charlotte's defense led by goalkeeper David Martin have registered four shutouts.

Charlotte's offense has outscored their opposition 35-21 this season. Chris Salvaggione leads the team with eight goals and eight assists. Tom Woollard is second on the team with a career-high seven goals and four assists. Luke Exley and Kent Long are tied for third on the team with four goals apiece. Will Shull and Andres Cuero each have scored three goals this season.

Saint Louis earned the top seed in the A-10 Tournament. Rhode Island, who is the two-time defending A-10 Tournament champs, earned the number two seed. Massachusetts, who has reached the A-10 Tournament for the first time since 2002, is the third-seed. Then, Charlotte is joined by fifth-seed Fordham, who will be playing in their first A-10 Tournament since 1998, and sixth seed-Dayton, who earned the final seed after a 6-1 win over Duquesne in their final regular-season game.

The 2007 Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Championship begins on Thursday, Nov. 15 with #6 Dayton facing #3 Massachusetts at Baujan Field. Thursday's other opening round game pit #4 Charlotte against #5 Fordham at 8:00 pm (EST).

 

 

The semifinals are on Friday, November 16 with Rhode Island facing the highest remaining seed. Followed by the other semifinal game which pits Saint Louis against the lowest remaining seed.

The A-10 Tournament title game will be held Sunday, Nov. 18 at 1:00 pm.

All games can be viewed live via video web-streaming at www.atlantic10.org. Single day tickets are available for $6 while a three-day pass may be purchased for $15. Tickets will be available at the entrance to Baujan Field.
