Charlotte, NC - Charlotte 49ers men's soccer coach John Tart has announced the signing of Alex Robinson to a national letter-of-intent for the upcoming 2005 season.

"Alex has been very successful in his soccer career and this success will continue at Charlotte," Tart said. "Alex is very skilled with the ball and is a strong presence in the center midfield. He has a great attitude for the game and will push for significant playing time during his freshman year."

Robinson, who is a senior at Deland High School in Florida, was an Adidas ESP player in 2004. He has been a member of the Florida state ODP team since 2001. He also played with Region III ODP team in 2003. Robinson has been named his high school's defensive player of the year the past two years. The Daytona Beach New Journal named him to their all-area team in 2004.
