Final Stats

TAMPA, Fla. - A goal at 77:11 mark was all the Charlotte 49ers men's soccer team needed, as they clinched a berth in the Conference USA Tournament with a 1-0 triumph at South Florida on Sunday afternoon. The 49ers will enter the tournament as either the #4 or #5 seed and face Cincinnati on Thursday back in Tampa.

Charlotte's junior forward Juan Munoz-Airey scored his team-high tying seventh goal of the season following assists from Jeff McFarland and Rob Evitts. With the goal, Munoz-Airey now leads the team with 17 points.

Goalkeeper Lucas Mackanos picked up ten saves for his fourth shutout of the season. Of his four shutouts, three have come against C-USA opponents, including two on the road. The non-conference shutout was at Duke on Oct. 28, as the 49ers won the Big Four Classic.

Charlotte concludes the regular-season with a 9-8-2 mark, 5-4-1 in Conference USA. It was the first 49er victory at South Florida since a 3-2 overtime win on October 13, 1993.
