DURHAM, N.C. - In the first game of the Big Four Classic in Durham, N.C., on Friday afternoon, the Charlotte 49ers men's soccer team came from behind to defeat the Wolfpack of NC State, 4-1. Charlotte scored all of its goals in the final 23 minutes of the match.

At 67:09, a David Pedreschi corner kick found the head of defender Shane Carew, who found forward George Sheppard, who placed the ball in the back of the net for the Niners' first goal to tie the match. With a little over ten minutes remaining, Chris Wargin converted a Penalty Kick for the game-winner at 79:26.

Charlotte later added two goals in the final ten minutes of the match, when Mira Mupier scored following an assist from Sheppard. Later, at 87:13, Wargin notched his second goal of the match for the final Charlotte goal.

NC State scored first when Lee Baldwin, from 20 yards out, capitalized on a direct kick at 14:31.

With the win, Charlotte improves to 6-6-2, while the Wolfpack drops to 3-11-0. The 49ers will next play host Duke in the final match of the Big Four Classic on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
