Final Stats

CHARLOTTE - The Charlotte men's soccer team lost to #7 North Carolina, 3-0, at Transamerica Field.

"You hope to be in position to win a match with about 15 or 20 minutes left in the match," Charlotte coach John Tart said. "We were in a position to win the match trailing only by a goal but then they scored a goal off a deflection from one of our defenders with about 13 minutes left in the match to give them a comfortable 2-0 lead.."

All three North Carolina goals were scored by reserve Ryan Kneipper. Kneipper scored his first goal of the match off a Nozuma Yamauchi corner kick at the 37:44 mark of the match giving Carolina a 1-0 lead at halftime..

The match stayed 1-0 until Kneipper scored his second goal off an assist from Marcus Storey with just under 13 minutes left in the match.

Kneipper scored his final goal when he headed a Danny Jackson assist into the Charlotte goal at the 83:11 mark.

Charlotte falls to 4-6-2 on the season. While North Carolina improved to 11-2 on the season.

Charlotte returns to action this Sunday, October 21 when they host Conference USA foe Marquette at 1:30 pm.
