CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte men's soccer team battled Virginia Tech to a 0-0 in the final game of the Charlotte/Puma Classic.
Charlotte controlled the match as they had a season high 24 shots but were unable to put any in the net.
The 49ers had several scoring opportunities but either a Virginia Tech defender or goalkeeper Colin Kibler were able to thwart the Charlotte scoring chance.
Charlotte goalkeeper Lucas Mackanos recorded his first career shutout in his first career start. He collected a career-high six saves in the match.
Charlotte won the Charlotte/Puma Classic by virtue of a 4-3 win over Memphis and the 0-0 tie with Virginia Tech.
