Curl Shoots Four-Under In Round 5 at Q School

Former 49er Keeps Hope Alive of Earning Tour Card

Dec. 7, 2008

La Quinta, Ca. - LEADERBOARD

Former Charlotte 49er Jeff Curl shot a four-under par 68 in the fifth round of the final stage of 2008 PGA National Qualifying Tournament at PGA West to move into a tie for 61st-place entering Monday's sixth and final round.

The top 25 finishers, including ties, receive privileges to play on the following year's PGA Tour. Remaining finishers in the top 75, plus ties, receive full privileges on the Nationwide Tour.

At 10-under par 350, Curl is four strokes off the current top 25 cut line of 14-under par and is on the current top 75 cut line of 10-under par.

Curl has posted five consecutive rounds of par or better to keep his hopes of earning his 2009 PGA Tour Card alive. His four-under par 68 in round five is his best round of the tournament, so far.

Curl moved up 34 spots with his strong outing in round five.
