Charlotte, N.C. - Charlotte 49ers golfers swept the Atlantic 10 weekly honors for the week ending Nov. 9. Senior David Rawluk (Dublin, Ire.) was named the A-10 Player of the Week while freshman Paul Ferrier (Edinburgh, Scotland) was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week.
The pair led the 49ers to a fifth-place finish at the CordeValle Collegiate in San Martin, Ca. The competitive event include Southern Cal, Stanford and defending NCAA champ UCLA.
Rawluk led the 49ers with a 15th-place individual finish. He posted a three-day total of +4, 220 -- his personal best 54-hole score as a 49er. His second round of four-under par 68 was the only round in the 60's carded on day two and marked his career-low 18-hole score. His 15th-place finish was his first top 20 finish in the 49ers varsity lineup.
Ferrier, making his first appearance in the 49ers starting lineup, posted a top 20 finish by placing 18th. Ferrier shot a three-day total of six-over par, 222, including an even-par round of 72 on the opening day, his first collegiate tournament round.
Both awards are the first in the careers of Rawluk and Ferrier.
