Mincer; DiBitetto; Enander Hedin Advance in Q School

Former 49ers in Search of PGA Tour Cards

Charlotte, N.C. - Former Charlotte 49ers golf stars Matt Mincer (Lenoir City, Tenn.) and Andrew DiBitetto (Rochester, N.Y.) have advanced through pre-qualifying to the first stage of the PGA Tour's Qualifying School while Jonas Enander Hedin (Taby, Sweden) has advanced through the the first stage of the European PGA Tour Qualifying School.

A four-round pre-qualifying stage for the PGA Q School was held, Sept. 16-19 in Roseville, Ca. Of the 75 participants, 37 and ties would advance to the first stage. Matt Mincer, the 2007 Atlantic 10 Medalist, finished fifth at two-under par (74-69-72-71 -- 286) while Andrew DiBitetto, a member of the 49ers first class to compete in four straight NCAA Tournaments, tied for 17th at four-over par (74-70-72-76 -- 292). Teammate Trevor Murphy (St. Johnsbury, Vt.), who competed as an amateur at the 2008 PGA Wachovia Championship, is playing in a pre-qualifying stage, this week.

Enander Hedin shot three straight rounds of four-under par 68 to place fifth of 83 participants in Stage 1 qualifying for the European PGA Tour Q School. He shot nine-under par over the four rounds (75-68-68-68--279) at Circolo Golf Bogogno in Italy.
