Junior Ray Sheedy led the 49ers to a third-place finish at the Hyatt Plantation Intercollegiate and a team title at the Birkdale Intercollegiate with two Top 3 finishes. He shot a career-best -7, 209 to place 3rd at Hyatt and -1, 215 to place second at Birkdale. The 49ers won the Birkdale Intercollegiate by 19 strokes with only Sheedy and one other player finishing under par. His -5, 67 in the final round was the lowest round posted in the tournament by any player. During the week he posted a stroke average of 70.7 with two rounds of 67 which match his personal best.
