49ers Finish 5th at CordeValle Collegiate

San Martin, Ca. - Junior All-America Corey Nagy (Charlotte, N.C.) shot a final round of four-under par 68 while senior Stefan Wiedergruen and sophomore Will Golden notched rounds of one-over par 73 as the 49ers claimed fifth place at the CordeValle Collegiate.
The 49ers finished with a three-day total of +34, 1114, four strokes behind fourth-place Washington (+30, 1110) and six strokes ahead of sixth-place Arkansas (+40, 1120). Southern California won the event at even-par 1080 while Stanford placed second at +2, 1106.
The CordeValle Collegiate uses six players from each team and counts the top five scores, each round. Many collegiate events use five players from each team and counts the top four scores, each round.
Senior David Rawluk, the 49ers top finisher, shot a final round of +6, 78 to place tied for 15th individually at +4, 220. Freshman Paul Ferrier and Wiedergruen tied for 18th at +6, 222 while Nagy finished tied for 21st at +7, 223. Nagy's final round 68 was one of just four rounds in the 60s in the final round.
